Konami code reveals well-dressed velociraptor catwalking on Vogue UK

11 Jul 2013

Jurassic Park taught us that velociraptors are clever girls, and internet memes have highlighted their philosophical side. Now, the Konami code has revealed the Cretaceous creature’s fashion sense on Vogue’s UK website.

The Konami code is a sequence of key presses (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A) that was originally a cheat in many Konami-made video games but has more recently been used to hide Easter eggs on websites.

Enter the Konami code on Vogue UK and a stylish velociraptor, sporting any one of an array of hats on each appearance, will strut across your screen.

But wait, there’s more!

Pressing A repeatedly will generate even more raptors for a fashionable hat parade.

The highly entertaining raptor catwalk seems to work on any page of the website, and the dapper raptor also seems to have an endless supply of high-fashion headgear.

The fashion-packed website can be slow to load on some connections, which means waiting in intense anticipation for the clever girl to appear. But, as anyone who has ever seen Jurassic Park knows, she will strike when you least expect it.

Geekologie reported on the dino-based Easter egg yesterday, and we can’t help but wonder what Philosoraptor thinks of his sartorial-minded cousin.
