The Labour Party is officially launching an app for iPhone and Android devices ahead of the upcoming general election.

The app, developed by Cork-based software company DeCare Systems, allows users to access information on the party and learn how to canvas for the party and support it for the imminent election.

It includes a map showing local candidates and events, along with news, photos and videos of the party.

The app also has a policy section which updates in real time and also has functions to let supporters donate, share their views or contact the Labour Party.

“We were delighted to work with DeCare Systems in the development of this new application. An application that will enable Irish people to access Labour’s message of jobs, reform and fairness wherever and whenever they like,” said Labour Leader Eamon Gilmore.

The app is available now.
