Professional social-networking site LinkedIn now boasts 60 million members, a Tweet issued by the company has said.
The network has seen a notable amount of growth, particularly internationally, in the past 12 months. It has grown by 5 million members within the past two months. LinkedIn’s CEO, Jeff Weiner, said in a post in October that half of the network’s membership is international.
LinkedIn has been expanding its operations in global markets in an effort to manage this growth. The company has opened offices in India and the Netherlands, two countries in which LinkedIn is quickly growing. The 60 millionth member, in fact, is from the Netherlands.
