Live from the PlayStation reveal in New York

Siliconrepublic.com’s Elaine Burke is at Sony’s PlayStation meeting in New York tonight, where details of what the electronics giant has up its sleeve will finally be revealed.

The PS4 is expected to be unveiled at tonight’s Sony event in New York. Rumours concerning the device’s specifications and release information have ramped up since Sony announced the event.

Some reports reveal a price point of stg£300 for the new console, less than what the current PlayStation 3 cost at launch.

Other reports are citing news of price cuts for the PlayStation Vita, signalling the likelihood that Sony will unveil a new handheld console tonight.

The PlayStation event is due to kick off at 6pm EST (that’s 11pm GMT) and our reporter Elaine Burke is in situ at the event on 34th Street in New York to cover the big reveal by live tweeting the juicy details as they emerge.
