Instagram users are snapping away fast and furiously at the London 2012 Olympic games, if the number of Olympics-related photos taken with the app are anything to go by.

The Olympics are receiving a lot of attention from Instagram users. Some 347,001 photos tagged #olympics are on Instagram at time of writing, and 41,482 Olympics-related photos are tagged #olympics2012.

Not surprisingly, Instagram users are taking pictures of everything from athletes, to the Olympic Stadium, to sporting events, capturing the spirit of the Games in London.

The photos Siliconrepublic.com has compiled below include the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, by ctvolympics, who were attending the equestrian team eventing competition today; an Olympics basketball game by leeshamoods; merchandise available to purchase at the Games, as photographed by kittykills; the Olympic rings suspended over St Pancras International station, as captured by mberning; the Olympic Stadium tower by lef_iv; coveted tickets by lzarembski; and an Olympics-festooned Carnaby Street, snapped by the_mo_19.
