The London 2012 Olympics are upon us, and the Games are expected to generate Olympic-sized traffic online and across social media. For instance, BBC is expecting 1 Terabit per second of traffic, reveals an infographic about the Olympics and consumers’ digital consumption of the event.

The infographic published by ExactTarget on Visual.ly takes a look at several subjects: the most popular Olympic sports based on followers, the most popular Olympic athletes, and how big an impact social media had at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
