Luxury hotel signs deal for web reservations system

Carton House hotel has signed a deal with a Chicago-based business process management provider TravelClick to deploy a system for website reservations and global distribution system (GDS) connectivity that includes online marketing capabilities.

Due to open as a four-star 160-room luxury hotel this summer, the 17th century Carton House near Maynooth Co Kildare is one of Ireland’s greatest estates and is home to one of Ireland’s top ten golf courses, The Montgomerie.

As Carton House expands to include a luxury hotel, it needed a central reservations system (CRS) that could deal directly with the international market. The hotel will implement TravelClick’s iHotelier CRS including the OneScreen booking engine and GDS connectivity. By using Macromedia Flash software, OneScreen can show the Carton House property through a single, dynamic booking screen.

With a single click, inventory and rates will be displayed in real time, creating an interactive shopping environment for international shoppers. Carton House rated iHotelier highly on its comprehensive graphics capabilities, multi-language support, email marketing tools and dynamic packaging capabilities.

“The iHotelier CRS solution allows us to manage our global electronic distribution program on one global platform,” said James Tynan, general manager for Carton House. “Compared to other systems, we were impressed by iHotelier’s marketing power combined with the ability to easily measure booking performance.”

Chicago-based TravelClick has over 12,000 customers in over 140 countries around the world. Carton House is the first iHotelier customer in Ireland, said Jan Tissera, president of TravelClick International.
