A hospital has sacked a New York City emergency medical technician who posted the photo of a body on the social networking site Facebook.
Mark Musarella (47) has pleaded guilty to misconduct charges after posting a photograph of a corpse on Facebook. He had taken a photo with his mobile phone at the murder scene of a woman who had been strangled.
The hospital that employed Musarella then fired him.
Musarella, under a plea deal, must complete 200 hours of community service. He has been banned from ever working as an emergency medical technician again. Had he been convicted, he faced a year in jail.
The killer of the woman has been convicted of second-degree murder.
