Man Utd bans Facebook, Twitter

Football club Manchester United has reportedly banned players from using Facebook and Twitter.

The club has issued a statement on its website saying that no Manchester United players maintain personal profiles on social-networking sites.

“Fans encountering any web pages purporting to be written by United players should treat them with extreme skepticism. Any official news relating to Manchester United or its players will be communicated via ManUtd.com.”

According to EPL-Talk.com, the Twitter accounts of Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher have been removed, Wes Brown’s Facebook account has been taken down, and content on Giggs and Rio Ferdinand’s Facebook walls has been deleted.
