Massive Attack producer to score Halo 4 soundtrack

Neil Davidge, music producer from music group Massive Attack, will compose the music for the upcoming Halo 4 for the Xbox 360.

Davidge is a composer, record producer ad songwriter who is best known as a co-writer and producer for the last three albums from Massive Attack. He has also creates music for films such as documentaries and Hollywood blockbusters such as Clash of the Titans.

He will provide the music for Halo 4, which is being developed by 343 Industries. The game continues the story of Master Chief as he faces an ancient evil which threatens the universe. The game is set for a Christmas 2012 release.

Davidge and his production team will work with a 16-person male tenor/bass choir,10 female Bulgarian vocalists, a full 50 piece orchestra and other performers for the in-game music.

“As a passionate Halo fan, I’m incredibly honoured and thrilled to have the opportunity to compose the score for Halo 4,” said Davidge.  

“Music has always been at the heart of what makes Halo so captivating and iconic. With Halo 4, we want to build upon the franchise’s amazing legacy and create a score that captures the awe and wonder of the Halo universe, and reinforces the deeper and more emotionally impactful journey Master Chief will embark on,” he said.
