May the force be with Wii

Gaming fans will soon be able to realistically battle the dark side. LucasArts and the Nintendo Wii developed a Lego Star Wars game complete with lightsaber action for the Wii remote for release in Spring 2008.

Before this release, however, an upcoming interactive entertainment festival, Gamecity, organized by Nottingham Trent University, will give eager fans to fulfill their Han Solo fantasies as the new game, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, will be demoed complete with light saber.

The new complete saga will compact all six Star Wars films into two games, with characters in Lego brick format.

The first Lego Star Wars game was released in 2005, followed by Lego Star WarsII: The Original Trilogy a year later on all major gaming platforms.

The new game will be on the Playstation 3 and Nintendo DS as well as the Wii.

The GameCity 2007 festival which show cases this lightsaber action will run from October 24th to 28th, and aims to explore a large part of our modern culture — videogames.

The festival will provide a game-making workshops for teenagers, as well as talks on topical issues like the moral debates that occur over violence in videogames.
