US First Lady Michelle Obama has joined the ranks of the twitteratti and opened a Twitter account. So far, she is following 15 people and organisations on the microblogging site, but her husband, US President Barack Obama, is not among them. Not yet, anyway.

Michelle Obama is following the Obama Inauguration Twitter account, however, the account run by the official Presidential Inaugural Committee, as well as following branches of the US military, the White House, and the US Department of Education.

The president began following his wife’s account, which, at writing, has drawn nearly 80,000 followers, right away, The Telegraph reported.

To find Michelle Obama on Twitter, just go to the handle @FLOTUS – First Lady of the United States. Her account is the one with the profile picture of her and Bo, the family dog.

Michelle’s office has sent out only three tweets since opening the account a day ago, with the first tweet stating that any messages coming directly from Michelle herself will be signed ‘mo’.
