Mullenweg tweets about in-flight same-sex wedding

The founder of blogging platform WordPress Matt Mullenweg shared the news of a same-sex marriage taking place on his flight to New York via his Twitter account.

The pilot apparently even made a diversion so the couple could legally tie the knot.

“There was a wedding on my @VirginAmerica flight to New York! The captain flew briefly over Canadian airspace so two gentleman could marry,” Mullenweg tweeted.

Canada became the fourth country in the world on 20 July, 2005, to legalise same-sex marriage nationwide.
