The domain SunonSunday.co.uk has been transferred to News International, suggesting that the media group will replace the News Of The World with a Sunday edition of The Sun.
Journalism.co.uk reports that the Whois record shows the domain has been transferred from its original registrant – “Mediaspring” – to News International.
The move seemingly confirms News International will give its newspaper The Sun a Sunday edition to replace the recently closed News Of The World during an ongoing phone hacking scandal.
Chief executive of News International Rebekah Brooks reportedly said its daily and Sunday tabloids would be integrated to create a managing editor structure, before the scandal escalated.
Mediaspring registered the name on 5 July, two days before the closure of The News Of The World.
