Facebook apps add email sign-up and surveys to pages

21 May 2012

Email marketing firm has introduced two new apps for Facebook that allow brands to easily add email sign-up and surveys to their pages.

The two new Facebook apps, and, help companies to encourage fans on Facebook to sign up for company newsletters or email updates, or to participate in a survey.

Getting the apps up and running is a three-step process: simply install the app, connect your account and then customise the app to suit your brand guidelines.

The email sign-up module can be given a prominent position on a brand’s Timeline, encouraging visitors to the Facebook page to engage with the company. Users that sign up using the app can then be selected to receive specific messages, such as a welcome email or exclusive Facebook-based content.

Using the survey app, companies can choose what survey is active on their page at any one time. It can also run outside of Facebook and all data is aggregated in one place.

This innovation from the Irish-based email platform further demonstrates how Facebook pages can be adapted to incorporate all things brands would have previously hosted on their own websites – something smaller companies will no doubt make use of.
