Nokia gets ready for Oxegen with festival apps

28 Jun 2010

Ahead of the biggest music festival of the year here in Ireland Nokia is readying ticket holders with a selection of free apps – Apps for Oxegen – designed to be part of the festival survival kit.

Available through Nokia’s app store Ovi.com these free Apps for Oxegen include three specially created apps for the big weekend: Nokia Live Link, Nokia Recommends and Nokia Video Jukebox.

Even if you’re not there on the day you can follow gigs and gossip through these apps and the Live Link app give up breaking news, stage times, special guest info as well as traffic information and where the parties are happening on-site.

Live Link is created by mobile app developer Mobanode, the tech start-up behind apps including national anthem app Amhran na Bhfiann and a variety of apps for Electric Picnic.

Nokia Recommends gives you a selection of acts that you might like based on your music taste and Nokia says these recommendations are created by ‘top class music gurus and industry heads’ so you may get some not so well known but class acts that you otherwise might have overlooked.

There is also the Nokia Live Stage on Thursday 8 July from 12.00pm to 4.00am, Thursday, 8 July to Sunday, 12 July featuring a massive (seriously, it’s huge) full HD LED screen and you can get free 3D glasses from the Nokia Pop-Up Store on Grafton St to watch some of the 3D footage. More info at the Nokia Live Stage Facebook page.

The Ovi Store is part of Nokia’s overall Ovi range of services that includes the ability to back up and sync contacts, upload and store photos, videos and other files, and download music from the Nokia Music Store.
