US President Barack Obama will answer questions from Twitter users about jobs and the US economy during a town hall the microblogging site is hosting at the White House today.
Twitter will be selecting the questions for the president to answer verbally in front of a live audience. Twitter users can submit questions via the hashtag #AskObama.
“Questions addressed during the town hall will be selected both in advance and in real-time during the event,” Twitter said in a statement.
Obama will not be tweeting any of his answers, but will dictate responses to his staff and Twitter officials, who will post his replies within Twitter’s 140-character limit using the Twitter account @townhall or @whitehouse, The Washington Post reported.
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey will moderate the town hall, which begins at 2pm EST.
