A video posted online reveals what could be an unreleased version of Gmail that demonstrates new features for users on the latest Android platform.
The video and screenshots, published by Android Police, highlight features that could be in the pipeline for what is allegedly Gmail 4.2. The app is demoed on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, indicating that the release may not be solely for the upcoming Android 4.2 (expected to be Key Lime Pie-flavoured).
The key features are the ability to swipe an email to either archive or delete it – either function can be assigned by the user. The app also allows pinch to zoom in on email content, something most-wanted from Gmail users.
‘Report phishing’ has also been added to the list of actions possible when viewing an email.
