Pinterest, the service that allows members to “pin” images, videos and other content to their online pinboards, has scapped its invitation-only membership and opened registration to the website.
Previously, anyone who wanted to join Pinterest had to request an invitation on the site and wait to receive it via an email. Now, all potential Pinterest users have to do is go to Pinterest.com to begin using the site.
In addition to letting users sign in with their Facebook or Twitter logins, Pinterest is now also allowing users to sign in with just their email addresses, the company said on its official Pinterest blog, Oh, How Pinteresting!
“We’re really excited to have the capacity to offer Pinterest to more people and if you’re a Pinner with friends who’ve been waiting on the sidelines, we hope you’ll let them know,” the blog entry reads. “Happy pinning to everyone!”
