Pinterest’s co-founder and CEO Ben Silbermann said profile pages on the online pinboard will soon be redesigned. He also said the company is working on an iPad app.

According to CNN, Silbermann said Pinterest’s profile pages will be revamped to look “more beautiful” and will feature users’ influencers much more prominently.

The company is also building an iPad app, though no release date for this has been given.

The online pinboard service has been gaining more attention recently and has earned 10m US members faster than any other website.

It has almost 12m monthly unique visitors and has raised US$37.5m in funding since October 2011.

The site has been particularly popular with women, as 97pc of its Facebook fans are female.

Silbermann also spoke about how organisations were using the service in different ways, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which shares images from its collection and a woman in Spain who shares travel guides to cities she has visited.
