Rupert Murdoch opens Twitter account

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch

Rupert Murdoch only opened a Twitter account three days ago, but already the media mogul has attracted nearly 84,000 followers and has mostly tweeted about politics.

For example, “While Obama feeling courageous, why not follow his first class education policy. US’ absolute biggest crisis. No read, no write, no jobs,” Murdoch tweeted.

News agency Reuters reported that Teri Everett, a spokeswoman for News Corp, confirmed the Twitter account belongs to Murdoch.

The chief of News Corp has tweeted 24 times so far, including one about his new year’s resolution to diet.

None of Murdoch’s tweets at this point pertain to business. A phone-hacking scandal in Britain last year led to the closure of News Corp’s News of the World newspaper.
