European airline Ryanair, which sells 99pc of its tickets online, has chosen a novel approach to launching its new ski website by planning to sell advertising space via an auction engine.
An online auction for advertising space on Ryanair’s Ski site www.ryanair.com/ski will take place on Friday 19 September 2008 and will be run by its e-sourcing provider Trading Partners.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the ski and snowboard industry to be part of Europe’s largest travel website and to benefit from Ryanair’s 27 million monthly visitors,” explained Sinead Finn, director of commercial revenue.
“Ryanair’s ski programme is larger than ever this year with over 100 ski routes and will provide a great opportunity for potential advertisers.”
