The winners of The Appys 2011 have been announced, recognitions of the best apps across smartphones, tablets and social media platforms.
The awards ceremony took place last night at Dublin’s Mansion House and recognised the best in app design and development.
Adverts.ie took the prize for best business app and best iOS app. The Child Immunisation Tracker won an award for best education app.
Heinz BBQ won three awards – the best food app, the best branded app and the best Android app.
The best entertainment app award was given to TV3’s 3Player app. 98FM won an award for best music app.
TheJournal.ie won the best media/publishing app award and MailOnline won the prize for best iPad app and won the overall Grand Prix.
Vinny Coyne, founder of App Sandwich and creator of apps such as EirText and Muudio, won an award for best developer.
