Members of the public who wish to leave a few words in honour of former finance minister Brian Lenihan can do so on a Facebook page.
While not an ‘official’ website, Rip Brian Lenihan was set up barely an hour after his death was announced. The number of ‘Likes’ on the page has been increasing by the minute, and Facebook members have so far been posting mostly messages of condolence to his family.
The Fianna Fáil TD died at his west Dublin home this morning. He was 52.
Lenihan had been suffering from pancreatic cancer for the past year and a half but continued in his portfolio as Minister for Finance and then as his party’s spokesperson on finance.
He is survived by his wife Patricia and his son and daughter.
