Irish broadcaster TV3 has, in tandem with an overhaul of its entire tv3.ie website, rolled out a new hourly online video news service that will run alongside its on-air output.

Online bulletins updated hourly at www.tv3.ie/news will be presented by TV3 news anchors, led by Colette Fitzpatrick, together with a live news stream providing up-to-the-minute breaking news from around the globe.

Other main features include the latest video of the day, an opt-in News in Focus section for major breaking and running stories, must-see viral videos from 3e’s fyi news team and the best of The 5:30 stories. The site will also include sections for full viewing of the latest editions of Tonight with Vincent Browne, The 5:30 and fyi.

“The new website marks a major step forward in TV3’s online news offering. It will be a dynamic news service that combines modern news-gathering methods with the best of social media to provide the latest news from around the world with hourly video,” said Bob Hughes, deputy director of news at TV3.

“Our main news anchor Colette Fitzpatrick will lead the presentation of our online updates and this demonstrates our commitment to putting digital news at the heart of TV3’s news and current affairs content,” he added.
