TweetMeme to collaborate with Twitter on Tweet Button

Twitter has just released Tweet Button, allowing users to share website and to calculate how many times a URL has been retweeted.

The button only requires a single line of code to implement and comes in three different sizes.

It was unclear how this new product would affect TweetMeme, which has provided a similar service since 2008.

However, Twitter has stated that it would be working with TweetMeme to help with this service.

“We’re pleased to be working closely with the good folks at TweetMeme and, from here on out, they will be pointing to the Twitter Tweet Button,” Twitter posted on its blog.

TweetMeme also updated its own blog regarding the new button, stating that they were happy to be partnering with Twitter on this product.

“We will be assisting Twitter with the technical challenges involved with the button and secondly we will be working even more closely in the future on delivering real-time curation of the Twitter Firehose.” it said.

“This will manifest itself in the launch of a number of new products and the first of these is being unveiled today.” said TweetMeme.
