Twitter power users are in for a tweet – iPhone app version 4.3’s new features

9 Jul 2012

Twitter power users’ dissatisfaction with the lack of interactive features in its iOS app are about to get what they’ve been wishing for. Leaked notes on the iOS 6 Apple App Store indicate enhancements in the areas of personalised trends, discovery and authentication are coming on Twitter for iPhone version 4.3.

According to 9to5mac, release notes accidentally published on the App Store thanks to an iOS 6 bug, reveal the new features include a discover tab that will alert users when new content is available.

By tapping on a user’s avatar, for example, they will be taken to that user’s profile page.

If authentication issues arise, users will be able to manually input their passwords.

Users will also be able to receive unobtrusive Twitter notifications while using the app.

Another interesting feature to keep an eye out for is personalised trends, a move that will no doubt add considerable depth to the Twitter experience on mobile devices.

Also a new logo appears to be in the works, see below.
