Twitter tweaks how users view photos and video

31 Jan 2013

Twitter has rolled out updates to its service to make it easier to view photos and videos, and follow the replies and conversations that stem from individual tweets.

With this update, Twitter users will be able to view a large version of photos, including profile pictures and images posted in search results, without leaving the page they are on. By clicking on the image in an expanded tweet, a pop-up appears with the large version of the image, and the chance to scroll through the user’s media gallery.

These media galleries will also now include video from those services that have partnered with Twitter on expanded tweets, including YouTube, Vimeo and, of course, Twitter’s newly launched Vine.

The pages for individual tweets have also been slightly updated to allow users to see full conversations as replies to replies are also included.
