It’s Budget Day in Ireland and the Twitteratti are taking to the microblogging platform to have their say ahead of the release of Budget 2013.

So much so, that ‘Budget Day’ and ‘budget13’ have been trending on Twitter today.

The sentiments surrounding most tweets about the Budget are of anxiety and anger. Twitter users are wondering how the Budget will affect them and venting about reported increases on the cost of petrol and alcohol, and a €10 cut on the child benefit, as well as what looks like the Irish Government putting another squeeze on already-tightened wallets.

Other Twitter users, however, are taking Budget 2013 in stride, as shown in some more humourous tweets.

Finance Minister Michael Noonan is expected to begin his Budget 2013 address to the Dáil at 2.30pm today.
