With so much video available for viewing, we take a look at some of the viral videos that have caught our eye this week.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Hashtags: #MomQuotes

It’s Mother’s Day in the US and Canada today and, if you spotted the hashtag #MomQuotes trending on Twitter on Wednesday, that was down to Jimmy Fallon’s request for viewers to submit some of the best comments from the women that brought them into this world. Oh, mothers: sometimes silly, sometimes clever, but always beloved.

Dead Giveaway – Hero Charles Ramsey songified

The story of three women discovered to have been held captive in a house in Cleveland, Ohio for a decade shocked the world this week, but before details of the full story emerged the only first-hand account available was from Charles Ramsey. Ramsey heard Amanda Berry shouting for help in his neighbour’s house and helped her to escape. So, of course, YouTube has responded with an autotune of his heroism.

Hand grenade training fail

From impressive coordination to a complete failure of human ability, YouTube this week brings us this video of – apparently – a Chinese soldier during hand grenade training that brings validity to the claim that girls can’t throw (sigh).

Zachary Quinto vs Leonard Nimoy

Star Trek: Into Darkness has hit cinemas and Audi have released this Trekkie-pleasing promo pitting new Spock against old Spock. Of course, the lad with the Audi wins, but it’s worth bearing with the advertisement for a reminder of Nimoy’s ‘The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins’.
