YouTube starts featuring videos on Google News

14 May 2009

Google News has started carrying video reports from YouTube, which brings a whole new dimension to 360-degree news.

While the new-look Google News is almost identical to the long-standing service, there’s just one slight difference.

Headlines now have a little YouTube logo alongside them, which gives users the chance to see videos of related news stories.

The videos are actually embedded in the page, so there’s no jumping to a separate site.

In effect, Google has upped the game in terms of news media, giving TV stations and other media a chance to add not only text to global news coverage but video too.
