New start-up Voucherpages.ie has created a free iPhone app that’s aiming to help people digitally shop around to scoop the best deals.

The website itself went live last July after Ronan Hickey set it up.

Voucherpages.ie, which is now based at NovaUCD, features discount vouchers, coupons and deals for products and services from companies across Ireland.

Hickey, who has has worked for Truvo Ireland and Vodafone, said the new iPhone app will pick up a user’s location and display discount vouchers for goods and services around the immediate vicinity.

He said the app also allows users to filter discounts by the type of product or service, so they can pinpoint relevant local deals for what they actually want to purchase.

The discount vouchers can then be redeemed by purchasing in shops, etc, when people show the retailer the relevant mobile voucher when paying.

Hickey, who has commercial experience covering product management, business development and marketing, said this morning that the website is drawing visitor traffic growth of more than 50pc per month.

“We plan to launch an Android version of the app in the coming months,” he said.

Voucherpages.ie has received funding and support from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Enterprise Board.

The free app is now available to download for free from the Apple App Store.
