Gigglebit: For more epic music just add rain

15 Jan 2015

Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note.

Rainfor.me is a website established with the sole purpose of providing rain sound effects for songs in the hope the extra texture will add a whole new dimension to existing compositions.

Clicking the play button on the site’s homepage will start an audio track of raindrops falling with birds chirping on a continuous loop, inviting users to spin their favourite songs side-by-side with the effects.

“The idea is simple enough, listen to rain alone or with another song,” writes the site creators. “The natural, relaxing sound of rain can make great music even more enjoyable.”

Rainfor.me suggests Maxence Cyrin cover of The Pixies’ Where Is My Mind (below) as a good song to experiment with, but we’ve provided a few more suggestions that with added rain sound extra epic.
