Drama about Dublin hackers released on RTÉ Player

A fast-paced thriller about young online hacktivists in Dublin has been released today on the RTÉ Player as part of the broadcaster’s latest Storyland season.

The four part series called Ctrl follows a character called Colin who tries to gain the trust of a hacktivist group and his efforts to live a secret double life.

Ctrl is one of five new original dramas commissioned by RTÉ and the Irish Film Board for the new season of Storyland.

Storyland is a commissioning platform to identify new and emerging creative talent in Ireland.

Each Monday a new series will be released on the Storyland hub on RTÉ Player for local and international audiences.

The four part series was produced by Blacksheep Production – John Wallace, whose feature films include Dollhouse and King of the Travellers and Emmet Fleming whose first feature film Out of Here was recently voted 3rd Best Irish Feature of 2014 in the Irish Times’ end of year poll.

Ctrl was written by Matthew Roache and the director Brian Deane’s recent short film Volkswagen Joe has won 9 awards at international film festivals.

Colin is played by Fionn Walton (What Richard Did, Rhinos and Out of Here) and the female lead character Iris is played by Elva Trill (Red Rock, Ripper Street and The Tudors).
