Rise of the Tomb Raider had been officially described as an Xbox exclusive up until this point, but the game’s publisher, Square Enix, has today (23 July) revealed that the forthcoming latest instalment in the long-running series will be released on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016.

Xbox owners will still be able to play the game first, though, with Rise of the Tomb Raider premiering on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on 10 November 2015. A version will be available for Windows 10 and Steam in early 2016, but won’t land on PS4 until close to the end of 2016. Crystal Dynamics, a Square Enix studio, is leading development for additional platforms.

The game serves as a sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and follows Lara Croft as she explore the most dangerous and isolated regions of Siberia to find the secret of immortality before a ruthless organisation known as Trinity.
