Xbox One to support keyboard and mouse

23 Jul 2015

And so the inevitable begins. Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, revealed that the Xbox One is soon to support a mouse and keyboard.

The console already supports keyboards for basic text input, however in a Twitter Q&A, Spencer revealed plenty about the company’s future plans.

Things like PC-to-Xbox streaming were discussed, for example.

With Spencer saying mouse compatibility is not that far away.

This all comes in anticipation of the Windows 10 roll out, which seems to be all set to totally change the computer landscape.

However fear not, PC gamers, for Xbox’s target doesn’t appear to be eating into a rival market. Rather, to enhance console gaming.

What’s most likely is that the use of a mouse will greatly improve the speed with which people can navigate through the seemingly endless menu screens, which are a big bear of mine.

The Xbox One is updated almost monthly, with the streaming patch expected any day now. The dawn of Windows 10 may change things, however for that we just need to wait and see.
