Drag Me Down music video: One Direction’s new video shot at NASA

So, One Direction unveiled its new music video this morning and the internet promptly lost its mind.

Nothing new there. But the reason we’re covering news about the cherubic boyband is because its Drag Me Down music video was shot in the NASA Space Center in Houston, Texas.

It features the boys (as I like to call them) — Irishman Niall Horan, alongside Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson — preparing for a mission to space.

Filming of the music video saw the quartet (as they are now following the recent departure of fifth member Zayn Malik) being given access to various NASA facilities — including its airfields and training equipment — and being decked out in astronaut suits.

No one should be surprised if there’s a sudden spike in teenage girls taking an interest in NASA and space travel.

The Drag Me Down music video also features some of NASA’s crafts, including Orion and Robonaut, which appear to have been converted to Directioners (as the band’s fans call themselves), with Robonaut  tweeting excitedly about its involvement.

The video is pretty out of this world (you see what I did there) and, given One Direction’s frankly terrifyingly massive fanbase, it will no doubt break viewing records in no time.

It also might be a gratifying watch for those who aren’t such big fans of One Direction, as they are, after all, shot into space at the end, and there may be some people, like the Sad Dads at One Direction concerts who’d wish that they’d stay in outer space.

Thankfully for all the Directioners though, that’s not the case, and the quartet are still busy touring and making their millions – not that we’re jealous.

Check out the video below…
