Apple puts stop to Steve Jobs dolls

26 Nov 2010

A doll in the likeness of Apple CEO Steve Jobs will no longer be available after Apple’s legal department threatened the manufacturer with legal action.

Chinese manufacturer M.I.C. Gadget announced earlier this week that it had discontinued the SJ Action Figure. Its first batch of 300 of the $79 dolls had sold out.

A law firm representing Apple said M.I.C. Gadget had not consented to the use of Apple’s copyrights and trademarks, therefore it requested that M.I.C. Gadget immediately cease the marketing and sale of the dolls.

M.I.C. Gadget has reportedly apologised to Jobs, Apple.Inc, and its law firm for any inconvenience caused.
