Any video game fans hankering to battle it out with deadly Arctic creatures can do so in Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai, coming this fall to the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai, by Activision Publishing, Inc, has been designed to give gamers non-stop challenges and a ride through the Alaskan wilderness to complete a mysterious mission.

"Every human shares the purest of instincts: survival," said David Oxford, Activision Publishing.

"When those instincts kick in, it’s equal parts terrifying and exhilarating, and we’ve combined all those visceral reactions into a brand new, third-person adventure to make Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai the most exciting Cabela‘s game ever!"

Players take the role of bush pilot Logan James after he survives a plane crash that leaves him injured in a remote corner of Alaska. It’s up to players to guide him to safety in his battle against deadly predators and Mother Nature’s wrath.

With nothing but firearms and gear scavenged along the way, players will strive to conquer mountain peaks, icy cliff side trails, dense forests, frozen rivers and uncharted caverns. If that isn’t enough to worry about, starvation is an ever looming problem.

Players will have to keep their wits about them and use all survival skills to stay alive in such harsh conditions.

Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai will be available from 1 November.

The game will be bundled with the innovative TOP SHOT ELITE peripheral on Wii and wireless controller on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and can also be purchased separately.
