Call of Duty: Black Ops III officially confirmed for 2015, teaser trailer released

10 Apr 2015

Video game publisher Activision has confirmed that this year’s instalment in its juggernaut Call of Duty shoot ’em up franchise will be the third edition of the Black Ops series.

To maintain its schedule of releasing a COD title annually, Activision works with a lot of different developers, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III will see the company re-team with frequent collaborators Treyarch.

Details are scarce right now, but further information is due to be revealed on April 26. In the meantime, a short teaser trailer has been posted online. Scroll down to watch.

Last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was the top selling video game of 2014, marking a return to the top for Activision after the 2013 edition of the franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts, was comfortably outsold by Take-Two Interactive’s open-world crime epic Grand Theft Auto V. Prior to that, however, a version of the game has topped the year-end sales charts each year since 2008.
