Coors Light brings out social-to-real-life video game app

18 Jun 2013

Coors Light has attempted a new market first with a social-to-real-life video game that ties in with 800 pubs across Ireland to give thirsty punters up to 3,000 prizes, including free daily pints.

The Great Rocky Mountain mobile game challenges fans to pilot a customised sled through the Rockies, navigating various obstacles to win ‘power ups’ and go the furthest distance to win prizes.

The game has already attracted 6,000 downloads and 75,000 plays.

Fans can play to win one of 3,500 prizes (from paintballing and pouched hoodies, to bobbing moose heads) up for grabs every week. Pints of Coors Light that have been won can be redeemed in more than 800 pubs across Ireland, from 10 June to 31 August.

Coors Light has hundreds of pints a day on offer to thirsty players across Ireland – with a maximum of one pint per day, per player. Mates win, too, with Coors Light’s Gift it Fridays. Every Friday, for the duration of the campaign, winners are immediately awarded an extra ‘mate’s pint’ which can be gifted to Facebook friends through the app.

The app is available on the iTunes and Google Play stores.
