Rocker David Bowie plans to release an iOS app version of the 1975 hit single Golden Years. The remastered song will be capable of being remixed by fans.
The original 16-track Golden Years track will consist of eight stem files, including lead vocals, 12-strong guitar, bass, drums, guitar, harmonium, lead vocals, percussion and backing vocals.
Additionally, users can shake the player, which allows for random track selection and “shuffles” track mixes. These stems were specifically created by Station To Station‘s original producer, Harry Maslin.
EMI also plans to release an EP containing four DJs’ take on the Golden Years single.
It has been a busy week for Bowie fans. As well as a Blu-ray release of The Man Who Fell to Earth, Bowie announced the forthcoming release of a limited-edition DVD of films he made with his son Duncan Jones.
