After that they can opt to sign up for a subscription to the service, which rivals Spotify and Apple Music.

“The huge uptake of streaming services globally over the last 12 months means that we are finally entering the mainstream,” said Gerrit Schumann, chief international officer at Deezer.

“Now is the right time for Deezer to fire up its relationship with Three and focus its attention on Ireland in a way no music-streaming service has ever done before. Our partnership with Three means we can reach more people, in more ways than ever before.”

Existing Three users can start using Deezer Premium+ for free by texting MUSIC to 50202 or by going to the Three Deezer page online.

“This partnership with Deezer is the perfect fit for Three, giving our customers access to the largest music-streaming catalogue in the world,” said Elaine Carey, chief commercial officer at Three.

“Music most definitely lives at Three. We are proud sponsors of the 3Arena, Ireland’s best live music venue, and our much-anticipated 3Live immersive experience will storm this summer’s festival scene at Longitude, Electric Picnic and Punchestown Music Festival.”
