Eircom MusicHub to have Jedward album a week before launch

Eircom has scored a bit of a coup, landing the exclusive rights to play pop duo Jedward’s forthcoming album Victory on its MusicHub online music store.

Jedward’s Victory album will be exclusively available to all Eircom MusicHub users from Friday, 29 July, seven days before it goes on general release on Friday, 5 August.

Jedward’s new album contains all-original material and has 12 tracks with titles including Everyday Superstar, Your Biggest Fan, DISTortion and Wow Oh Wow. Bad Behaviour is the latest single from Victory. It entered the Irish singles charts last week at No 1. The album also features the twins’ No 1 song, Lipstick.

MusicHub, which Eircom launched last year following its entente with the music industry and agreement to adopt a three strikes approach to combat music piracy, has more than 4m tracks from thousands of artists.

As well as downloading tunes at 75pc less than the price of songs on Apple’s rival iTunes service, users can stream music at 128Kbps AAC+.

“Eircom MusicHub works very hard to provide the latest music across all genres and it’s great to be able to offer exciting exclusives like this one to Eircom MusicHub users,” said Mark Doyle, head of marketing communications, Eircom.

“Jedward’s fan base in Ireland is huge and they are two really great hardworking boys who have definitely been living the dream since their appearance on X-Factor,” Doyle said.
