Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic.com’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note.

With Gigglebit, we turn the spotlight on humorous and/or amazing content we find around the web, such as SIMPSONS PIXELS, a YouTube video from Paul Robertson and Ivan Dixon that remakes the entire full-length version of The Simpsons opening sequence in pixelated form. Accompanying the pixel-packed vision of Springfield is an 8-bit-worthy soundtrack from Jeremy Dower.

The trio have succeeded in perfectly recreating scenes many of us have seen thousands of times, and when we reach the moment of truth – the couch gag, the apex of every opening credits sequence from this long-running show – SIMPSONS PIXELS goes all-out to impress, and it doesn’t fail.
