Instagram reveals new Colour and Fade tools

8 Apr 2015

Photo-sharing app Instagram has added two new features to its repertoire of editing tools, which allow users to play around with the colour of their photos.

Using the new ‘Colour’ option, snappers can edit the highlights and shadows in their photos for a more moody effect. Radiant flairs can also be added in a variety colours.

The new ‘Fade’ tool allows users to soften the colours in their images for a washed-out look.

While the app is known for its ever-growing variety of filters, which edit the tone and texture of a picture at the push of a button, these new features should help more finicky photographers fine-tune their images.

In addition, Instagram is also adding Post Notifications to its service. As reported by TechCrunch, the feature will allow push notifications to be sent to users when accounts they follow post new updates, bringing the app into line with other social network’s mobile offerings.
