Marvel attempts to distract from The Dark Knight Rises hype with Marvel Heroes trailer (video)

19 Jul 2012

Though all the focus this weekend will on Batman as we reach the world premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, Gazillion Entertainment don’t want the DC Comics hero to steal all the limelight and has released the latest trailer for Marvel Heroes online.

The trailer was first screened exclusively at last week’s Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, and features gameplay action from Marvel Heroes, the upcoming free-to-play action MMORPG (that’s a massively multi-player online role-playing game for the uninitiated).

Created by David Brevik, the man behind the Diablo game series, Marvel Heroes is expected to combine core elements of Diablo but with action unfolding in the Marvel universe, with a huge cast of heroic characters from the Avengers to the X-Men.

The world-spanning story, created by award-winning comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis, sees the heroes trying to stop Doctor Doom from destroying the world with the Cosmic Cube.
