Streaming service Netflix has arrived as an app on Virgin TV set-top boxes with a six-month introductory offer.
Virgin Media and Netflix are offering an integrated service to Virgin Media customers for the New Year: six months of Netflix on their Virgin TV service.
The moves follows news in December that Virgin Media users who have Horizon boxes can access the streaming service as part of an integrated menu.
New customers, and customers wishing to upgrade, will be given six months of Netflix on their Virgin TV service – thereafter, their own Netflix subscription will commence.

The Netflix app can be accessed via channels 999 and 300.
Virgin Media customers are already able to rent hundreds of the latest blockbusters from Virgin TV and subscribe to Sky Movies, all available in HD.
Lights, camera, action!
With the arrival of Netflix as an app, Virgin Media customers will be able to sit back and watch documentaries, comedy shows, kids titles and all the award-winning Netflix series, including The Crown – which just won Best TV Series (Drama) at the Golden Globes – at the flick of a button on their Virgin TV service.
“Netflix is a fabulous addition to Virgin TV, enabling our customers to enjoy even more of their favourite shows and movies simply and easily – all through their TV set-top box and at outstanding value,” said Paul Farrell, commercial vice-president at Virgin Media.
“Virgin TV offers different ways to watch, either subscription or pay-per-view, all seamlessly integrated for simple, intuitive viewing, so there’s a world of great entertainment at your fingertips and everyone can be sure of the perfect TV moment,” Farrell added.
