Sky Movies app now available for Android devices

14 Mar 2013

Sky has made its Movies companion app available for Android smartphone users. The free app offers a one-stop shop for movies currently showing on Sky Movies and in the Sky Store as well as films currently showing at the cinema.

Sky Movies Pack customers can watch movies within the app across 11 channels.

Users can use the app to explore what films are currently showing.

The app can also be used to record movies on the users’ Sky+ HD box remotely. Last month Sky launched remote control functionality for Android users.

At the end of the month Sky will also launch a new movie channel called Sky Movies | Disney.

“A must-have for film fans, the Sky Movies app helps customers explore the fantastic range of movies available for them to enjoy at home or on the move as part of their subscription,” said Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies.

“The app complements the UK & Ireland’s most popular film subscription service and forms part of our continued commitment to offer customers ways to discover and enjoy more of the year’s biggest blockbusters than any online film subscription service.”
