Sony contest could let you become playable character in Uncharted 3

Sony Ireland is offering gamers the chance to become a playable character for the multiplayer mode of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for the PlayStation 3 in a new competition.

The winner of the competition will get the chance to fly to LA and meet the Naughty Dog creative team behind the game. They’ll get to see how motion capture works for animating video-game characters and they’ll be able to create their own character for the multiplayer mode of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Ten finalists will be chosen across Europe to compete at a live event in LA where one winner will be chosen to visit Naughty Dog to create their character. It will be available in-game as a pack update.

The competition launches on Friday, 9 March on the Sony Ireland Facebook page. Entrants must audition to be a playable character in multiplayer mode.

There will be three challenges as part of the contest to determine whether entrants have what it takes to become an action hero like the game’s protagonist Nathan Drake – ‘Name like Nathan Drake,’ ‘Move like Nathan Drake’ and ‘Act like Nathan Drake.’

‘Name like Nathan Drake’ will ask entrants to come up with their action hero name for the character. ‘Move like Nathan Drake’ will let them submit a video of themselves demonstrating their moves and agility. ‘Act like Nathan Drake’ will ask them to record a voiceover to a muted game scene to test their creativity and voice acting skills.

The competition ends Sunday, 18 March. Sony has also posted a teaser video for the competition, which you can check out here:
